Salisbury is set in the rural and historic county of Wiltshire. Wiltshire has a really country-style, medieval appeal to it as represented by the lovely city of Salisbury and the historical Stonehenge nearby.

There are many picturesque and typically unusual English towns existing, and also the obvious attractiveness of Salisbury there’s also Castle Combe and Bradford-on-Avon to experience nearby. Both are within easy range of Salisbury. As such, Salisbury is a great place to take a vacation, and even base yourself to explore other parts of South England. The town has a lovely feel to it, and one of the essential characteristics is it’s beautiful Cathedral, moments outside from the main town focus. The town centre itself is a splendid example of a market square – indeed market stalls are nevertheless displayed here at various times during the week, and the borders of the square are delineated with cheery cafes, pubs and restaurants.

 

Salisbury train station is a mere ten minute walk from the town centre (market square), and the bus station is yet closer. There’s also a parking area inside Market Square but it gets crowded during busy periods.
